Hmm...we must have stayed in the neglected rooms A review of Ocean Landings Resort
The man in the main lobby was very nice, we also appriciated the security guards on site. Friendly pool staff as well.
The two swimming pools aren't anything spectacular...they are just average pools. I did like that there was a "snack bar" at one of the pools. That gave it a resort feel. The whole feel of this resort was more of a MOTEL feel. I'm sure that's the whole "Beach experience" though. --we had a good time anyway.
Did housekeeping even exist in this place? They NEVER cleaned our room...NEVER. We were only there for 2 days but you would think they would refesh our towels or make our beds...vaccum? We are ON the beach for heavens sake, can you image the sand on the dark green carpet? My roomate called for more pillows and fresh towels and they told us we had to talk to housekeeping in another building for that. We had to sign out more towels and return them before we left. Housekeeping (if that's what you want to call them, more like women who do the laundry) left the property at 3pm!
We had to make our own beds-- don't get me wrong, I love to clean but I expected at least that service at a "resort". I don't want to come across as picky because we made the best out of our vaction! :) Anyway, the beds were very hard, like you were sleeping on the bedframe alone. One bed was lower than the other one as well. I almost forgot, the door locks are not that secure AND there was a big opening around our door, like the door should have been bigger to fit in the frame.
Anyway, the crowd is plesant, the beach is beautiful! The sunrise is a must see! (kids loved the running crabs in the mornings) Staff is nice. I just don't get were the good reviews on the rooms are coming from. *shrugs*-- maybe we just go the neglected room? Our housekeeper was on vaction?
Next time we're in Cocoa, we're probably going to stay at the Hampton Inn or a "named" Hotel/Resort. It wasn't horrible, but not a resort feel...go with Motel in mind.
