Hilton Arlington & Towers - Nov '03 stay A review of Hilton Arlington
I won this hotel on a Priceline bid.Hotel didn't seem very full at 2pm on 11/22/03 when we checked in. No one was in line at the front desk. We self-parked in the garage (and were told of the $13 per night overnight rate). I had my Hilton Honors card out and on the counter before he even looked up our name. I asked if we might, please, have a Towers room. He said "No problem at all, but only because it's a weekend night." He says it's not as likely during the week when business travelers are the majority of the clientele. He gave us Room #722 and explained the hours for that afternoon's appetizers & cash bar happy hour and for breakfast (Towers level) the following morning. Gave us two keys. Very pleasant and polite...his name was Michael. A bellman took us up; showing us in the elevator how to use our keycards to access the towers floor rooms. The room had a King bed...with a large, comfy 'chair & a half' along with a desk, several more sitting chairs, side tables, 2 robes in the closet, a handsome TV cabinet, a mini fridge, marble counter tops in the bath. A good sized bath with plenty of towels and Neutrogena products. Since we only stayed one night, we did not use any of the hotel amenities...nor did we get a chance to shop/walk in the area surrounding the hotel. Real nice, though...with a Rock Bottom Microbrewery, a Macaroni's Grill restaurant, and an Episcopalian church right next door. Convenient to everything. My only disappointment was that the hotel didn't have a pool or hottub. There was a hotel amenities binder in the room which said you could use the nearby Ballston Gym/Spa for a reduced single day rate.
