High Marks for the Claddagh A review of Claddagh Motel & Suites
Our family just returned from visiting Maine's mid-coast region including Acadia National Park from July 19-25, 2006. One of the highlights of our trip was a six-night stay at the Claddagh Motel and Suites in Rockport.
Given our family size (five members, including middle and high school aged children) we often have difficulty finding accommodations that offer enough room for everyone at a reasonable price. The Claddagh suites were the perfect answer. We stayed in suite #119 which was the entire second floor of the main building. It included a well-appointed master bedroom, a second bedroom with both a queen-size and full-size bed, a kitchen, bath and a large sunroom overlooking the property's immaculate heated pool. Our suite was spotless and included many touches that made it feel like home.
Alex and Siobhan Gilmore, our hosts, offered exemplary hospitality and made each guest feel special and very welcome. Over the course of our visit we noticed that no detail escaped their attention and that the property was extremely well-managed and maintained. The continental breakfast was always enjoyable and included many fruit, cereal, and pastry choices. The wonderful Irish scones were a highlight.
As a veteran traveler of 25+ years, I can assert that the Claddagh offers a wonderful lodging experience and is not to be missed when visiting Maine's mid-coast. No "big box" hotel can compare to the personal attention and passion for hospitality that Alex and Siobhan Gilmore offer at the Claddagh.
