Hidden Treasure! A review of Buckhorn Inn
The Buckhorn Inn, a lovely spot, shares an address with Gatlinburg, but thankfully, that is about all! Far from the crowds and commercialism, the Inn is a reminder of what makes this area such an attractive place to vacation. We stayed in a "cottage" which turned out to be a well-built, private accomodation, with screened in porch, living room with fireplace, small but functional kitchenette, nice sized bedroom and luxury bath with huge jacuzzi tub. I'm a tough customer and I was extremely pleased. The setting for the Inn is beautiful and peaceful, the grounds are a wonderful combination of groomed and wild, and the buildings are impeccably maintained. We ate dinner there one night and it was excellent, as were the breakfasts. I'd describe the food as hearty American--rich, well prepared and generous in portion. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were reasonbly priced and a very good value for what you got. A great place!!
