Have some tolerance for change...this place is amazing A review of English Inn

My husband and I recently spent an Incredible weekend getting married at the English Inn & Resort with 60 of our friends and family staying at the Inn with us. Yes, there is some construction going on as the Inn is going through massive renovations. But, this place is spectacular. Folks who know the Inn as a tourist attraction filled with old English paraphernalia will be disappointed. This place is transforming itself into a resort and what is comleted is truly exquisite. Like their food...Breakfasts were fantastic and beautiful, our wedding buffet unmatched and the croquembouche wedding cake the pastry chef created was truly the highlight of our time. And the gardens...they are breathtaking and relaxing, with fountains and quiet spots to hang out or chat. And the rooms...each one is unique. Some have more amenities than others. All are fun depending on your taste. While our planning and stay was not without its difficulties, our guests were treated like royalty, with warm and attentive staff working to make everything great for our fun, long weekend there. Don't book here thinking you are getting a hotel. It's really a bed and breakfast with limitations on staff and capacity, as well as some quirks that make it a unique place to stay. And, I don't recommend booking here online. Call the Inn staff and tell them what you would like. They are all about helping you enjoy your stay. They have so many different stylized rooms, and will happily book you into one to match your requests and needs. Do not think that construction here equals a lousy stay. Once the Inn is complete, it will be a luxury resort at luxury prices. Right now, it's a lovely, unique getaway at a fairly reasonable price. So, book in for Friday and stay through Monday and you'll miss most of the construction work...and may even catch a lovely garden wedding one afternoon too. Robin Rivers & Ken Henderson
