Hated the Hyatt Crystal City A review of Hyatt Regency Crystal City
We encountered many problems at the Crystal City Hyatt. We specifically requested a quiet room when we checked in and we were placed in a room with noisy neighbors, who talked loudly all night and their visitors knocked on our door late at night. The next morning we were switched to a diferent room, however, there was mold in the bathroom and the carpet was stained. Although the hotel advertises that they have shuttle service from the Metro, we waited 45 minutes one night and 25 minutes the following. We called the hotel several time while waiting and were told the Metro had just left the hotel (a 5 min. ride) only to find the shuttle still at the hotel when we returned. The conceriege was rude and when we purchsed tour tickets were only supposed to pay a deposit, however, we were charged for the total cost of the tour. Thank goodness the tour company allowed the hotel's mistake otherwise we would have had to pay twice. We received calls from a wrong number in the middle of the night from a caller trying to reach another room on another floor but the hotel switchboard kept conntecting them to our room. Unfortunately we booked on Priceline and because of that we couldn't switch hotels, reservations, or get a refund. We asked to be placed in another Hyatt inside DC but they denied our request. The hotel eventually granted us breakfast and dinner vouchers but unfortunately that didn't make up for the awful time and stress we had to endure during our vacation, time that can't be returned.
Don't stay at this hotel--Hyatt should be ashamed their name is associated with this hotel. There seems to be too many managerial problems that need to be corrected.
