Before booking a room at this hotel, I read all reviews here & at Travelocity. Even tho there were many negative reviews, I tried to keep an open mind because some of the reviews were a bit positive. The hotel is under construction/being remodeled. We were unable to tell the remodeled rooms from the 'old' rooms. Our first night stay we stayed in a 'remodeled' room. The toilet did not flush & had permanent cracks/stains on it. The tub was rusted & old. The water backed up when you showered. The water ran hot/cold. When it ran hot, it was scorching. I was afraid to have my young son shower-(he surely wasn't bathing in all of the rust). We asked for a 'new' room. We were tired the next day, & checked into our 'new' room. When I tiredly laid down on the bed, I could smell men's cologne on the comforter. My husband pulled back the comforter & the sheets underneath had food stains (I think it was food -it looked like spaghetti). Next to the food, there was also a great big ball of hair. (It was obvious, they had not changed the sheets) - we called the front desk - We had all of the bedding changed. It still felt very uncomfortable. The carpet in the room was filthy, I wouldn't walk barefooted. I would have blackened my feet/socks. There were no base boards in the room & there were spots where they were still painting. The mini-bar/refrigerator did not work. Nor did the sink above it. We also found bugs on the countertop of the mini bar & also in the bed. They had apparently crawled there from the countertop. At least the toilet worked in this one! I was afraid to eat at the 'outside' restaurant because the grounds did not seem "clean" & also becuz of the problems w/the room. The hotel staff at the front desk & outside bar, were courteous enough. All other staff was rude. The lady that came to change our sheets was in our room over 1 hour changing them. She never said one word to us or even looked at us. Overall, The stay here was was a terrible experience. Our room was a discounted $99.00 a night. At least the front desk was kind enough to refund us half of 1 nights stay for our trouble. Last but not least, when we first arrived, we were hungry & tired & wanted to order room service (only served after 5:30pm), but there was no room service menu in our room...what was I thinking? I called & asked if a menu could be brought up to our room. They told me I could go down to the bar & get one-because they don't bring them up. (even though they told me a menu should have been in my room). DON'T STAY HERE!
