HATED IT!!! A review of Red Lion Inn

This was the worst nightmare of a hotel I can imagine. They messed up my reservation, then decided while I was out for the day at a wedding, they would change my room for me without letting me know, or even trying to contact me. I returned to the hotel to find my key would not work in the middle of the night. They had gone into my room, packed my suitcase for me, which is revolting that someone touched my things, and to top it all off, my portable DVD player was missing. I'm not saying they took it, the people that got my room may have found it and taken it, but the staff there were awful at handling the situation, and the service was undescribable. The manager was impossible to get ahold of, and they have still done nothing to fix this situation, not even apologise!!

appreciate the job that Tripadvisor does. We do however feel compelled to reply to this review ,since it brings in question the integrity of our staff. The guest in question made a reservation for a non smoking room. Upon arrival this indivdual requested a smoking room. We were full that day and could not accomodate the change. We

advised the guest if they really would like a smoking room, we could move them tomorrow. The

guest said they would like to move. The Front Desk

clerk recorded this on the registration card and also

made the change in the Front Desk system. The next morning we started callling the guest' s room

to advise that their smoking room was available and they could move, no response. We tried several times but no one answered. We again were

a full house and had some one moving in to the

guest's non- smoking room. We had no alternative

but to move the guests items to the other room knowing they were advised of the change and had really wanted a smoking room. Our housekeeping Manager moved the guest's belongings. This indivdual has been with us for many years and is completely trustworthy. If he said everything was moved then nothing was left behind. The DVD was neither taken or left behind for another guest. Subsequently the undersigned and Hotel owner have tried to resolve the issue in the interest of good guest relations but the indivdual in question chose to proceed by writing a rather negative review about our Hotel and our staff.
