Had to change hotels A review of Courtyard By Marriott Nashville Downtown

We had reservations to stay 7 nights at Courtyard but the service was HORRIBLE. We (my husband, mother and I) got to Nashville yesterday and checked in around 3. We were kind of shocked at ALL THE CONSTUCTION downtown. What a mess! Anyway, we pulled up on the curb (valet parking only) and checked in. As many posts as I read I don't remember anyone mentioning how slow the valet parking was. We were told to call 15-20 min. ahead for our car. Well, we called down to get car in the early morning (to pick mom up from casino trip) only to find out they don't have valet through the night. So after we were outside looking for the car we went in to ask the desk clerk where our car was she told us she would have to call maintenance to go get it. I don't undertand why she didn't call maintenance to retrieve car as soon as we requested it. And this was after we didn't get our wake up call (alarm clock didn't work). They had no explination for not giving the wake up call. And sure didn't act like they cared.

Well, we got through that and went out for breakfast (pancake pantry, good food, way too long to wait), then to the farmers market by Cen. park (awesome fruit, and veggies). We got back to the hotel only to find there were cars parked all up the side of the street unattended so we decided to take a ride around the block hoping a spot would become available, ha ha, after the 3rd time around I decided to just get out and go ask for someone to park the car. Well there was only one young boy working and he was doing the best he could, but clearly overwhelmed. Got up to our room (3pm) room had not been cleaned (no big deal) but we had no toilet paper, or kleenex (back up you know) and the alarm clock had not been replaced (very important sice we can't depend on wake up call). There was no maid on our floor so we were S.O.L. As much as we hated to pack up and leave it was just too much crap for just 24 hours. We are now at the Hamton Inn satisfied as usual. One more thing, we ate at Monell's yesterday and it is the BEST food I have ever had. If you are traveling to Nashville you MUST go there.
