We just got back from a week at Breckenridge. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We took the Colorado Mountain Express from the airport to the resort. It was a little over a 2 hour drive. Our check in was very quick and easy. We were pleasantly suprised at the size of our studio room with queen size bed, pull out couch and full kitchen. The room temp was fine, but the air was dry, so we rented a humidifier for $20/week. It was a must. Unfortunately, the mattress wasn't very comfortable, and sort of sank in the middle. Also, we like to sleep in a super dark room with black out shades, and the wooden blinds didn't allow for sleeping in. The location of the hotel is perfect. You could walk right to the ski lift in just a few minutes. The town shuttles made it really easy to get to the city market, which we bought groceries. Sign up for a city market card and get the immediate discounts on all the groceries. We enjoyed the restaurants in town, especially the pizza at Erics. We went on the snowshoe tour one of the days, which was a lot of fun as well as a great work out. We also did the country boy gold mine tour one day and that was really interesting too. Of course we hit the slopes and had a blast. The staff at the marriott was really friendly and helpful. We didn't have children, but those families that did, the kids seemed to have a blast doing activities like making smores and indoor snowmen. I'd recommend the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge for your Breckenridge vacation.
