Great welcome, Great Staff, Great location - Great Hotel A review of BEST WESTERN Hotel Acacia
Check in was 15.00 but arrived early at 9.00!. Reception staff gave us a great welcome and our room was already available. What a suprise we had ,a junior suite with kitchen / living and outdoor space and an upstairs bedroom, bathroom & seperate toilet. NB: very steep open plan staircase with open sides - no good for restricted mobility or children. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, didn't wake up with 'ironing board' back next morning. And joy - an opening skylight window - fresh air in the bedroom all night as well. The room was very clean, although the powder blue upholstery on sofa and chairs was slightly grubby but the delightful pation with table and chairs more than made up for this. Free supply of tea/coffee/ chocolate/ milk, etc on each landing for use in rooms. Great breakfast, in very grand breakfast / dining room, with huge selection of hot & cold food, fruit , fresh bread- even champagne and freshly squeezed orange juice. Staff again were very friendly and obliging.
Even the parrot in the reception (which is allowed to exercise out of its cage)is friendlyand shouts hello. Hotel is located minutes from the centre of Brugge but very quiet as fronts a narrow road. Delightful sound of tunes from the Belfry fill the bedrooms - however rest assured they are muted during the night. Building work going on almost opposite but very visitor friendly , we never heared a thing. Will certainly be going back and would highly recommend.
