Great - We will stay here again next year A review of Radisson Jacksonville Butler Boulevard
My husband and I go to Jacksonville every year to the Players Championship and to visit family in the area. We decided to stay at the Radisson because we could get a suite and they advertised sleep number beds which we were thinking of getting for our home. We booked the suite for 5 days and it was two good sized rooms and a bath. We were in room 504 and the decor was beautiful. The sleep number bed was inviting with attractive white sheets lined in black on the outer edges (definitely high thread count) and a big cushy comforter, that appeared to be changed after 2 days with the sheet changes (warm but light weight surprisingly) instead of the drab bedspreads most hotels have. It contained a desk in both the living room and bedroom as well as a TV in each room. In the bedroom was also a microwave and refrigerator and 3 drawers and there were additional drawers in th LR if needed. The living room had a couch, a little on the hard side and 2 fairly comfortable chairs. there was also a small dining room area within the living room, that did not encroach on the LR area. The bathroom had a dressing area with the closet , safe, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was a good size with soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, mouthwash, shower cap and shoe cleaners, replaced daily, and nice thick towels. The sleep number bed was great and we are definitely going to get one for our home. Neither one of us can remember sleeping that well anywhere and we travel a lot. We had room service a few times and it was delivered quickly and the food was still hot. The folks working in the hotel always greeted us (from maintenance folks to the front desk), the room was always quiet and we felt very comfortable here. The only drawbacks which keep me from giving them an "excellent" rating - we had to have our room keys remagnitized every day (at least one of them). They tried to say in the beginning it was because we kept them near a cell phone or our credit cards but as I said, we travel a lot and we NEVER had this problem. (and keeping them separate made no difference....) They were always apologetic, we all actually got laughing about it when they would see me walking up with key in hand, and fortunately, one of our keys always worked - it actually alternated every day - strange....The second problem which was really annoying, is their high speed internet. They use a service called GoldenTree.com which had very nice folks who walked me thru setting my computer up (needed more than the standard instructions posted in the room) that was fine - I didn't mind..BUT - once I got connected, the connection dropped every 30-60 secs and then would reconnect 30-60 sec later. Spoke with the service folks again who checked some things on their end and then pinged the connections and determined it was on the hotel side and asked me to have their maintenance folks check the service on the hotel end which I did. Honestly, I didn't go back and check after that because we were busy at the tournament and family at night, so I gave up on it. But, these were minor annoyances - had I been there on business, I might have made more of a fuss about it. Overall, this was a great place to stay and my husband and I have already decided we will stay here again next year.
