Great views, great deal A review of Sealodge at Princeville
We just returned from a 3-day stay in unit D9. I can't speak for all of the units at Sealodge, but D9 was all that we expected and more.
It's worth noting at the outset that one should not expect that a rental condo will be comparable to the Four Seasons. The furniture, for example, is pretty plain, and the towels and sheets aren't the best quality.
Having said that, our experience at Sealodge was nothing but positive. Our unit had a fantastic view of the Pacific from every room save the bathroom and had a nice balcony with a table and chairs for enjoying the view from the outside. Although the windows can lead to a warm condo, we found that by leaving the windows open for only a few minutes, the ocean breeze would cool the place down. Unit D9 has a washer and dryer (and dishwasher), which is nice when you're on the tail end of a long vacation.
By staying at Sealodge, you get a discount rate at the Princeville golf courses. Hanalei is a short drive away, as is the Na Pali coast. The Princeville Hotel is a mile down the road and is a must-do for sunset drinks.
All in all, I'd recommend Sealodge (and especially unit D9) to anyone looking for an affordable (about $130/night) place with ocean views, space, and a great location. If you want luxury, head down the road and stay at the Princeville Hotel.
