Great value A review of Oceanfront Resort
We stayed at the Best Western Oceanfront resort for 17 nights. When we first entered our room we were worried. It was very dated, needed some paint and appeared run down and in need of a major renovation. None of the sliding doors worked, our front door had to be jammed open, and the TV console cabinet would not close (broken). The kitchen was tiny and very dated. We almost left but decided to give it a try, and we are glad that we did. It is very clean, the maids are excellent and work very hard. The air conditioner was very cold, and there were absolutely no bugs (budget hotels in Florida tend to have roach problems). The beach was beautiful and steps from our door, and the room comes with beach chairs. There are two pools that appeard clean and well maintained. There is no charge for parking and free continental breakfast. Breakfast was minimal, coffee, juice, boxed cereal, canned fruit salad, bagels and pastries. There are also two washer and dryers for guest use that seemed to always be available when we wanted to use them. So if you are comfortable in a budget hotel, and can deal with some minor inconveniences, then this is a great value for the money. We had a full one bedroom (fairly good size) with two double beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in living room, two 25" TV and fully equipped kitchen for $69 per night. We booked at destination coupons which seemed to have the very lowest rates. The other tenants were very nice and came from all over the world, and the Bal Harbour mall is across the street as well as a great grocery store, drug store and many cafe's.The nieghborhood was very nice and we felt extremely safe. This hotel was a great value.
