Great Value, Very Comfortable A review of Courtyard Boston-South Boston

I've stayed at this Courtyard by Marriot South Boston a couple times now, and I really like it. The hotel is actually easy to get to, once you know the tricks of the one-way streets, and free parking & internet will save you a bunch too. It's a couple blocks' walk from the Andrews Square T subway station, so while it's not walking distance to downtown Boston, it is only a few minutes' ride on the T. The hotel isn't more than a year or two old.

Contrary to a review by another user below, there IS a gym at this hotel, adjacent to the swimming pool, and is equipped with treadmill, stair-stepper, lifting, and includes bottled water and towels. The hotel also has a cash bar and comfortable lobby area, for relaxing without having to leave the premesis (closes around 11pm, so don't expect to be boozin' it up late!) Breakfast is served (for a charge) in the mornings.

The rooms are totally comfortable, and I've had rooms with two queen beds, or a king bed plus sofabed. There is a refrigerator (but no microwave), in-room coffee (and in-lobby coffee as well), and the decor is very pleasant, with recessed lighting, and clean carpeting. The climate control worked flawlessly.

The bedding was very comfortable, with a down comforter, feather pillows, clean sheets, and quality mattress. The bathroom was roomey, with granite countertops, shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soaps, plenty of clean towels, and a wonderful shower with a nice massage setting. And the exhaust fan in the bathroom works!

I really have no complaints whatsoever about this hotel. It's not opulent, but it sure beats any motel-grade hotel you might find, and it was clean and comfortable. The staff was quite pleasant.
