Great Value - Highly Recommended A review of Hampton Inn Boston / Cambridge
I spent two nights at the Hampton Inn Cambridge at the beginning of February 2005 and have to say that I thought it was excellent value for money. The hotel was in excellent condition throughout, the room was comfortable (I had a great king size bed that gave me the best night's sleep I'd had in ages!) and the breakfast was just right for setting me up for a good day's sightseeing.
Lechmere T station is just up the road, that will have you in downtown Boston in minutes. The only negative side to that was that the Lechmere branch of the Green Line is out of service until May 2005, but they have replaced it with a very regular shuttle bus taking you in minutes to Government Center where you can connect to other T lines as well as walk to the major sights such as Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall.
I will agree with the last poster though that the ice machines can make a bit of a racket, which woke me up on my first night, but I soon went back to sleep again...and managed to ignore it on my second night - and my room was right opposite the vending and ice machines. It doesn't go on all night, rest assured!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
