Great value, great location A review of Bedford Regency

I've visited this hotel twice. It has a terrific location right in downtown, and it was quiet at night even with windows overlooking Government Street. The first time I stayed in their cheapest room, the second time I upgraded to the mid-level. Both rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Both rooms have window air conditioners that can be noisy, but can cool down the room easily... just turn it on before you go out for the afternoon or for dinner.

The cheaper room was a little crowded for two people, and I would recommend upgrading to gain a little more space. While the upgraded room was larger, it was still small compared to most modern hotels. This is an older building, and part of the reason why you stay there is its quaint charm.

Evening desk staff for both visits were very helpful in researching a tea house and some directions for me. Day desk person was same woman both times, and could be a bit more friendly. Waking up to tea and coffee delivered to my front door was lovely. I would definitely go back again.
