Great Value and Location A review of Headlands Inn Bed & Breakfast
Just stayed at the Headlands over this past weekend. We booked the room pretty late and stayed in Annie's Room. Definitely bigger than the pics indicated - it's on the first floor but very private in the rear of the house. It's a B&B, so you can hear the room above, but that's normal in older houses.
The location of the Headlands is excellent, right in the village in a quiet area. A short walk to all the Main St. shops and the coast. There are also a few excellent restaurants in very close walking distance (convenient when it rains). A lot of the other B&B's and Inns are several miles out of Mendocino.
The best part of the Headlands, hands down, is the breakfast. It's brought directly to your room with the paper. It's easily the best breakfast we've ever had at any establishment. Here are some of the various things we had in our two night stay: fresh muffins/pastries (chocolate chip muffins, cinammon rolls, etc.), mexican egg fritata, egg bake, fresh fruit platter, fruit w/ cinammon bake, fresh OJ, coffee, etc. Definitely 5-star hotel breakfast quality.
The Innkeeper's are all very friendly, it's an excellent value. We highly recommend it.
BTW - we also highly recommend the Albion River Inn's Restaurant if you are looking for a great dinner.
