Great vacation getaway A review of Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium
Went for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect. Had a great time. We stayed at the Greystone Lodge at traffic light #5 and loved it. Great location but out of the way, it is next to Ripleys Aquarium. In seeing the location of some of the other hotels they are right on the strip and would not have liked that.
Hotel is clean and rooms are spacious. We had a belcany that overlooked the creek. Very relaxing.
They had a continental breakfast that consisted of donuts, bagles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, juice, coffee and tea.
The grounds are clean and everyone was very friendly. Pool is outside and has a shallow childrens pool on one end that was great as we had our 2 year old grandsons with us.
We went the week before July 4th and left on the 3rd and was glad as very crowded and traffic is bad. Would not go again on a holiday weekend.
The State Park is beautiful and no charge to go through. We also went to Cades Cove and could have spent the day there. Just beautiful. There were deer along the side of the road you could take pictures and they just look at you. Can hike if you want but lots to see and do. Takes approximately 2 hours to drive through without stopping as one lane road once you get there but well worth the trip.
Went to Dollywood. Really enjoyed but feel it is one of those things once you went you don't need to go back. Beautiful park with lots of entertainment for all ages. Did have long waits at the shows so missed most of them.
We are looking forward to returning and will stay at the same place.
