Great trip, but hotels a bit far from city A review of Top Hotel Prague & Congress Center
Arrived in top praha late at night and got a lovely welcome from staff. The hotel foyer was lovely I was a bit dissapointed with the rooms very basic with no coffee or tea facilities & furnished with 2 single hard beds.
the hotel has 3 bars, the best of which was the sports bar situated in the basement. Overall I enjoyed my stay in Hotel Praha, but somethings got to be done about noisey guests, on our first morning a crowd of americans were leaving at about 05.30 & as the americans like everyone within 100 meters to hear there conversation the noise was incredible.
Some handy tips for visitors to prague....always purchase a valid transport ticket before travelling on public transport as plain clothes inspectors will fine you on the spot 400kc, tickets are available in any hotel shops for 12kc & permits you to travel on bus, metro & trams for 1 hour. DO NOT !! exchange money with guys who approach you in the street offering you great rates of currency exchange, the money they will give you isn't worth the paper its written on < counterfit >
always agree the price of the taxi fare with the driver before you hire him.
Prague is a wonderful city but like any other tourist city pick pockets can spoil your trip, so enjoy the sights but do not drop your guard and look after valuables. on the brighter side, my friend lost his camera within the hotel and it was handed into reception by honest cleaners...in conclusion...yes the hotel is a bit out of the way but its a very reliable transport system, it takes 20 mins to get to downtown prague if i visited the city again i would get a city hotel.
