Great Time, Great Resort A review of The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort
My wife and I stayed here from March 3rd through March 10th. The staff were very helpful, and the accomodations were great. Since these units are condos with full kitchens, we opted to have breakfast in our unit and pack a lunch, with plenty of water, juice and snacks so that we could explore all day, and then have a nice dinner wherever we ended up. Make sure you go to the Costco when you arrive, if you are a member, to load up on food and snacks and refreshments for the week; it will save you time and money. Costco is a couple of miles south of the Kona Airport. Getting back to the Bay Club resort, they have a couple of pools and hot tubs, a little outdoor eatery that is suprisingly inexpensive that serves a diner quality Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If you attend the Timeshare presentation that they mention at the activities lecture, you will receive discounts on activites that you book during your stay. We saved close to $200 dollars on a helicopter tour over the Volcano, which you should do, and a sunset dinner cruise. Also, if you are going to do a Whale Watch criuise, go on the sunset dinner cruise, you will see whales mostly anytime that you go out on the water, but starting in April I hear that less whales are seen for a couple of months. We went to the Farmers Market in Kailua-Kona on Sunday, and walked the town that has plenty of shoppes and restaurants; these shoppes are much better than at the King shoppes near the resort. Have a great time and explore the whole Island. Aloha!
