Great Stay A review of The Woodlands on Fall River
Had a great 2 night stay at the Woodlands.
We had a 1 bedroom condo on the top floor. The condo was very well funished. Furniture was clean and high quality. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat. The condo had lots of books and magazines in the living room. The fireplace was great. They even drop off wood for you. The condo is not what I would consider luxurious but it is very nicely furnished. It was the perfect size for two people but if we had kids or another person, we would need the two bedroom because it would have been crowded.
The top floor units back up direcly to the the parking lot which is convenient. The bottom units are accessed via a sidewalk along the river so a little more walking is required. All units had a view of the river. There is a road on the other side of the river, so it is not total solitude, but we were not bothered by the traffic (there wasn't much). The location is great. Not too far from Estes Park and very close to RMNP. This is a great launching point for a mountain vacation. The staff was very friendly and had lots of books, movies, and advice to lend. The only negatives I can think of is that the office has short hours so if you are checking in or out early or late, you won't have any one there to talk to. They do have an emergency number if you need something. Also, you have to call during business hours to make reservations. They were very friendly and the prices seemed very good for the area.
Estes Park is a very nice town. When we were there in early October ,it seemed as though they were getting ready for winter but everything was still open. The shops were nice and there are lots of dining options. A very laid back town thats not too snobby or cheesy and over done. The hiking and scenery in RMNP is spectacular. Lots of wildlife and beautful views. Trails for every level of expertise. This is a great place to go on vacation. I would recommend at least 3 nights.
