Great Stay - Wonderful Value A review of Virginian Suites Arlington
We stayed at the Virginian Suites for 8 nights in early June 2005.
Everything was excellent.
We were on a driving holiday, and had a car, so the free parking was a necessary bonus. The driving directions on the Hotel website were excellent.
The Rosslyn Metro station was a 7 minute walk for us - we're in our late 40s, and are regular walkers. There is a shuttle to the metro but we didn't use it. The shuttle also goes to a local Safeway and back once a day in the early evening. The walk might be a little far if you have young children.
The area (Arlington, Virginia) felt very safe - we walked back from the metro on two occasions after dark, and never felt uncomfortable.
The room was excellent - a good size with a small, full kitchen. There was only a double bed, so we used the pull out couch as well as the bed.
The hotel was very quiet.
We didn't try the hotel breakfast.
The pool was wonderful - crystal clean and a full time lifeguard. Because of the lifeguard, the pool is closed for 15 minutes each hour while the lifeguard has a break. You can still sit by the pool during the breaks.
The fitness room was excellent with 3 or 4 machines, a TV, and lots of room.
It was very hot and humid in Washington that week, so it was nice to have an air conditioner that worked and worked well.
The staff was very friendly, cheerfully giving us directions when needed.
All in all a great stay. And we got the "Entertainment Club" rate, so it was an incredible value.
