Great stay! 8/6 - 8/9/2006 A review of Glacier Canyon Lodge
Just came back from the Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells. We had a double queen suite on the 4th floor overlooking the Lost World outdoor waterpark. The view was great. Check in was at 4:00 p.m. but we were able to get our room at 2:30 p.m. The decor in the room was really nice. Towels fluffy (not typical hotel room towels) and the beds very comfy. There are elevators. The hallways in the building were extra wide - wider than the Wilderness. The place is constantly being cleaned - I saw lots of cleaning staff in the hallways, pool areas, etc. I agree with another post that the food is outrageously expensive at the Wilderness (think Disney World prices) and not worth the money. The clientele at this hotel was really nice - nobody really running up and down the halls yelling (ok - maybe my own kids but they were reprimanded!) The walk to the waterparks at the Wilderness was a hike - BUT really not bad at all if you took the outside footbridge. I recommend this walk as you walk over a little creek and the view of the creek is nice. Chlorine smell in the indoor waterparks is pretty strong. Wild Waterdome wasn't bad but it is new so the ventilation is good. Lots of construction going on here but it did not affect us at all, couldn't even hear it. Pools closed too early. I would have expected them to stay open later.
This was our second stay here. We haven't had the problems that others encountered. We're already planning our winter trip!
