Great start, a few wrinkles to iron out A review of Compass Point Beach Resort
We were immediately impressed by the staff when we first arrived at the resort. The bright personalities and the bright buildings were quite the first impression. We enjoyed our stay on the island, a pleasant alternative to the crazy huge resorts closer to the city. Our favorites: the view, the way the huts incorporated an outdoor living area, nice decks, plush towels, aveda products, the amazingly helpful staff, the hottub right next to the ocean. I want to emphasize how relaxing it was there! Things we would like to see them improve: there were problems with our keys and the airconditioning, which took a while to resolve, there were no glasses in the kitchenette, the bed isn't a box spring, and the fact that the resort is RIGHT up against a well traveled road and is close to the airport (ie fly-bys). I was told when we arrived that the dining would be vegetarian/vegan friendly, and didn't find this to tbe the case once we arrived, although they did try to accomodate). All in all the resort was wonderful and peaceful and the staff made things right when they could. I think they will have a few of these wrikles ironed out in no time. If I went back to the island, i would stay here again, despite the fact that it is a $25 cab ride into the city or anywhere else.
