Great staff, lovely grounds A review of Fredericksburg Inn & Suites
We have stayed twice at this hotel, and will stay there again. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the grounds are lovely. Well-manicured lawns and gardens surround two very clean heated pools, a water slide, large hot tub, and a pool house with a television, tables, and comfortable chairs. (We also noticed a family reunion going on in a separate party room.)
The inn is surrounded on 3 sides by a pretty little creek. It's a very short walk to downtown, about 2-3 blocks.
One of the best things about this place is the staff and management. Absolutely everyone was courteous and accomodating, making the overall atmosphere gracious and peaceful. Just the getaway we were looking for.
They call their breakfast just continental, but they offered sausage buns, muffins, bagels, cereal, toast, juices, pb & jelly, fresh fruit, and sweet rolls. Breakfast is served in an historic old house adjacent to the lobby.
The only thing that I wish they'd provide is a handicap/accessible room with two beds, or with a cot available. They have accessible rooms, but with just one bed. (My husband and I travel with my Dad, who can't stay alone, but we can seldom find HC rooms with two beds.)
However, their grounds are very accessible, and we had no problems negotiating in a standard room with a wheelchair.
We feel Fredericksburg Inn and Suites is a terrific value, and it will continue to be our hotel of choice in Fredericksburg.
