Great service, nice room A review of The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands
The wonderful service starts the moment you step into the small but cosy lobby of the hotel. In fact I would hesitate to call this a hotel, cos it is so warm and unlike the typical cold and impersonal hotel. It feels more like the home of a good friend.
I was early (not check in time yet) but no problem, I was seated in the Highlander Lounge and staff readily agreed to let me use a power point so that I could charge my handphone. The GM Krishna Badhur came to say hi, and stayed to chat for a while. Like him, the other hotel staff were friendly and ready to assist.
The hotel room was cosy and nice. It's every bit of what I expect from staying in a colonial English cottage. It seems to have been maintained well, room was clean, everything was great. Food wasn't too bad too. The Lakehouse seems better maintained than Ye Olde Smokehouse, which we visited for tea. The Olde Smokehouse has a much nicer garden but it did seem a bit run-down and some staff were not very friendly.
