Great place--Friendly staff A review of Days Inn

We stayed at Days Inn because Foxwoods had no room on this particular Friday night and our usual B&B was full--4th of July holiday weekend.

We got a very reasonable rate using the internet and asking for the Best Rate.

To my surprise, it was a very pleasant stay. We had two rooms booked--one smoking and one non-smoking. They have arranged it right because the smoking rooms were in the last of the three sections which meant that we did not have to walk through the smoke filled hallway of the smoking section of the hotel. Two sections of the hotel were all non smoking rooms. Our room had a king size bed, a loveseat, a desk and chair, a set of dresser drawers and a TV, at least one night stand, a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker, an ironing board and iron (a must for me). In order to fit this in though the bathroom was small. The bathroom was clean had a full tub with shower and plenty of clean new looking towels--a plus. The sink and mirror along with the hair dryer was on the wall outside the bathroom. Again space is a premium. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean with a very good air conditioner.

I visited my mom's room in the smoking area and found her room was just what was requested. Two queen beds, etc. on first floor not too far from the doors. Mom is older of course. Her room was very clean. They had already perked coffee when I arrived which made me feel good because they felt comfortable in their room. The lighting in the area was excellent. Even though the website advertised a deluxe continental breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. Not just with the food but the fact that they had two people tending to the tables and to the food to make sure that things did not run out. Waffle mix was already premeasured in cups next to a waffle maker, several varieties of bagels as well as toast and english muffins, as well as a large assortment of condiments for the toast and bagels. Near the juice machine (3 kinds) was a station with assorted separate packages of cereal (much better than the stations with containers of loose cereal), several selections of oatmeal. In the area with the fresh fruit, which kept being replenished, I found hard boiled eggs. The wait staff kept replenishing the coffee and anything that got low. I would give them an A plus for the service at the breakfast area as well as the whole front desk staff. The pool had lots of people at it. It is an outdoor pool but we were too busy to be able to use it. I would definitely use this again and recommend it. The place had families there so I would say it is good for familes as well.
