Great Place for the Budget Conscious A review of Maui Guest House
My wife and I stayed at the Guest House for four nights and found it to be a very well run facility with loads of ammenities. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and have TV, VCR, clock radio, phone, mini-fridge and hot tub. A generous breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, cereals, breads etc. is set out for guests each morning. If you like to do your own cooking for lunch or dinner, this is the place for you. A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal and is stocked with all the items you would normally have to purchase but use very little of such as spices, salad dressing, BBQ sauce, butter etc. There is also a complimentary washer & dryer available and they supply the detergent. The outside pool area is quiet, clean, and has lots of tables and chairs for guests. Snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels are also supplied without charge. There is a large video library for guest use and a computer for internet access. The home is in a quiet residental area of Lahaina so is great for sleeping. When you consider all the ammenites that are supplied, the Guest House is a great value in the Lahaina area. Are there any downsides? First, don't judge this property by what you can see from the street - go in, you will be pleasantly surprised. Second, the home is in a very average residental neighborhood with no walking access to stores, restaurants or beaches. There are no good views from the property. In other words, you will need a car to commute to downtown Lahaina, the beaches and other attractions on Maui.
