Great overnight stay A review of Days Inn JFK Airport
Stayed at the Days Inn JFK Feb. 19. Hotel is quite new. Clean, well-kept room. Good blackout draperies. Free continental breakfast was good.
The shuttle from JFK/Federal Circle is a bit hard to find. The courtesy phone doesn't have the Days Inn listed, but an airport employee said to call the Best Western since they share a shuttle. That worked fine. It's hard to see the shuttle arrival area from the AirTrain building, so you have to keep going outside into the weather to see if the van has arrived. That's the fault of the terminal designers, not the hotel. It would be nice if the return shuttle to JFK went more often that once every hour.
If you're renting a car, I recommend not driving to and from the hotel and parking there. Difficult to find and to get a parking space.
The location of the hotel is not attractive, but the hotel itself is good for a overnight or even as a base for visiting Manhattan if you're willing to spend the time and effort using public transportation and can balance this against a nightly rate much lower than you would pay downtown.
