Great one day raft trip...terrible service at Lodge!!!! A review of Hualapai Lodge
Loved the one day rafting trip. The scenery was lovely and the guide very nice. The lodge, on the other hand, was a terrible experience. The rooms were clean, plenty of hot water and towels but the people were very RUDE! There is nothing within 50 miles of the lodge and the employees know it. It took at leat 30 minutes to get seated at dinner every night, even though there were always at least 7 available tables. If "locals" came in, they were always seated first. Our last evening there, we waited 1 hour to be seated and had to stop them from seating some locals who had just arrived. They apologized and seated our party of four but the local party (of 8 or 9) still got their food way before we did. They were rude, not helpful and the wait staff "tsk'd" every question we had. I am honestly the nicest person to wait on and usually just order a salad. When I asked for the dressing on the side, I was actually laughed at. What a nightmare. The food wasn't bad, the portions good too. BUT THE ATTITUDES! It was horrible.
AND!! THERE'S A TRAIN THAT PASSES BEHIND THE HOTEL EVERY 15-30 MINUTES ALL DAY AND ALLLLLLLL NIGHT! You cannot sleep. No way. Ugh, I will never go back and it's a shame because the raft trip was fun. I think the Lodge needs some good competition to step things up. I would not recommend!
