Great North Shore Find! A review of Sealodge at Princeville
We just returned from a 7 night stay in Kauai. It was our second trip to the island and so we chose the North Shore this time around. Sealodge was a great deal for a Princeville condo. The condos are perched on a cliff above the ocean, many in Princeville are set back or have no view. We stayed in Building C, one of the closer ones to the cliff. The unit we stayed in was nicely appointed - each one is decorated differently so if you care about that, make sure to look online or ask for pictures of the unit. The particular unit we stayed in had a washer/dryer but it was in a locked closet so we couldn't use it.
There is a trail heading down to the ocean by Bldg. A, a bit muddy so wear shoes vs. flip flops. The beach was small but not many people, decent snorkeling and an endangered Hawaiian monk sea lion spent a day napping on the beach for us to watch.
The one negative were the ants that would appear in the kitchen looking for food. I think that it's either due to the time we were there or a problem overall on the island and not something specific to the place. I heard from someone that the island has an ant problem.
We liked this place, especially for the price and will return there!
