Great New Hotel A review of Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach
We stayed at the Residence Inn at Port Canaveral before our Disney Cruise in August. I was lucky to get a rate online from the hotel website before the hotel opened up. We had a one bedroom suite, which had a king size bed and a pull out sofa bed.
The staff couldn't be more friendly when we checked in. The hotel still smells of "paint" and just had that newness to it. Everything was decorated nicely and in good working order.
Upon opening our room, I was surprise at how big it was (I was expecting smaller). It had a full kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, plates, cups, silverware, dish detergent) with a little table, a desk, a sitting area with a large TV, and a great bedroom with lots of storage space. The bathroom was nice as well, and we enjoyed having the double vanity outside of the actual bathroom. The kitchen amenities came in handy since we got Chinese take out and didn't get any plates or utensils from the restaurant. There was also free high speed internet access in the room.
Breakfast was complete with eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and certainly a great value. One of the better "included" breakfasts we have experienced.
There was also a computer in the main seating area so you could check your email from home (which I did) and they had a printed hooked up as well. There was also a large screen TV, and a sofa and chairs.
We didn't check out the pool, since we had arrived late after a day at KSC, and left early to get onto the cruise. The front desk staff said they do run a shuttle to the Port for $3 per person (and you could leave your car free of charge at the hotel) but it didn't start until 11. We wanted to be at the terminal before that.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It was well worth the money and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
