Great location! A review of The Westin Poinsett, Greenville
We loved the location of the hotel as it was downtown and very convenient to areas of town we needed to get to for a wedding. We walked down the streets of Greenville two days in a row. The tree lined streets were beautiful both day and night. Many shops to explore and a few eateries and ice cream parlors.
Getting back to hotel. We loved the lobby areas and the bar seating areas. We ate in the formal dining room for lunch and the food was very good and different. Shrimp and grits, crab cake sandwiches and Chicken Pot Pie...YUM! Room service for breakfast was very nice. Large portions that could feed two.
Our rooms were purchased through Priceline for $55 a night. The rest of the wedding party paid $95 and up. We were truly expecting to get a Priceline room (no view and small room), but instead we were pleasantly surprised! We had a king bed corner room and our children had a double corner. We added a rollaway for our third child as the girls do not like to share a bed and our son could not sleep in either double. Both rooms were nicely decorated in a subtle and formal ways. The headboards were black Toile and draperies were black and gold. The furnishings new as well as the carpeting. The ice bucket and glasses were kept in an armoire with the TV. A side chair, desk and desk chair completed the room. Paintings and a large mirror graced the walls along with the long draperies.
The only downside to the room was a small closet and bathroom. Although the bath was newly tiled and had nice fixtures, the size was REALLY small.
The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our two night stay very much.
