Great Location A review of NH Brussels City Centre
Just returned from 3 days at supper hotel visited Christmas Markets at Brussells. Ideal location and superb shops that are totally different to what we are used to. Beautiful pottery and glasware shops selling amazing tableware and gifts. Was disappointed in the market thought it was tatty and very few stalls that sold the same thing. Not as good as Germany. However the main purpose of the review is the amazing bars and restaurants in Brussells plenty of choice but especially around where the market is situated, by the Ice Exhibition. One bar in particular deserves a mention is 'Le Cirio' very old place you can imagine it bustling with market folk and traders many years ago, as it does not appear to have changed much. But the attraction is the warmth of the place and you can get almost anything to drink which is bought to you by very pleasant waiters who appear to have been there since the bar was built. But this is not being disrespectful as they work very hard and we were in there in the morning and again in the evening and the same waiters were still there, pleasant and chirpy and efficient.Nothing was too much trouble and they had time for a chat. Ask for a half and half, my friend and I spent many happy hours there but felt half and half was not sophisticated enough for half a glass of wine topped up with champagne. I suggesteed they renamed it champine and the waiter was impressed and remembered us the next time. So if you find yourself fortunate to be in Le Cirio ask for a champine and we may have been remebered. It was an amazing place and we were very sad to leave as we felt so at home there. What a very pleasent way to while away a few hours.
