Great Location and Nice Hotel A review of Woodlands Hotel & Suites - Colonial Williamsburg
Great Location and nice hotel...
I stayed at this hotel the first week of June 2004 for 5 nights. I was extremely pleased with the location and the quality of the hotel. I booked through a Williamsburg site and paid about $90.00 a night for the room (compare to $150.00 from Expedia). Try Williamsburg. The room was clean and adequately appointed. The added bonus was that the chair pulled out into a single person bed. My younger son loved this because he didn't need to share a bed. The pool was large and clean. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and there was plenty of seating.
If you are a history buff, this is a great place to stay because it was right next to the Visitor's center. It is also a 1/2 mile walk from the Visitor center (or a shuttle ride) into colonial Williamsburg. The shuttle is free when you stay at the hotel. I am a runner, so I ran into colonial Williamsburg along a paved trail ever morning. It was great!
I can't think of a better place to stay the next time I return to Williamsburg, expecially if you want to spend any time in the Colonial section. The staff was also very friendly and check-in was efficient.
