Great Labor Day weekend package A review of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis

I wanted a nice place to take my wife to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We're from close-by in Illinois, and I wanted a nice romantic hotel not in downtown STL. I also didn't want to take the chance of having a kids sports team or convention swarming the hotel and making a racket. The Ritz was the perfect choice--in an upscale part of town with great restaurants close by (we went to Morton's Steak House--awesome!). The hotel decor is haughty, but the rooms are simply decorated and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part was the Labor Day getaway package that the hotel was offering. A room, two 1/2 hour massages, and breakfast (in room, or in the restaurant) all for $229. Priced individually, it would have cost us about $380. The area surrounding the hotel is under construction, but we never heard any work going on.
