Great Hotel A review of Hotel U Tri Korunek (Three Crowns)
I stayed at this hotel for 5 days with my fiance in July and we were both very impressed. The hotel is clean and spacious and the breakfast is excellent - hot/cold buffets, freshly ground coffee etc. The area doesn't look to be the best, but after exploring Prague for a day, you'll find it's on par with most other areas of the city.
The location is convenient for access to the city centre by the very reliable and frequent metro and tram services. We found the easiest way to get to/from the hotel was by tram - come out of the hotel, walk up the hill and turn right - tram stop is just down from the Sklep restaurant and bar (a highly recommended restaurant). The No 5 tram will take you near to the old town (and some very nice restaurants) and No 9 will take you to Wenceslas Square and near to Charles Bridge. TIP - buy a guide book before you go that has a metro map AND a map of the tram routes for Central Prague - we used the lonely planet "Best of Prague" guide.
Also if you like country music (or even if you don't!) there is a pub round the corner from the hotel called "Saloon" - picture popular country songs sung in Czech! If you're not really into country music - the beer prices might change your mind, they work out to be roughly 36p for 0.5 litres!!
