Great hotel! A review of Clarion Inn Historic Strasburg Inn
We visited the Netherland's Inn and Spa in Strasburg, PA in June 2004 and were very pleased. We were in town attending the Thomas the Tank Engine appearance at the Strasburg Railroad and were thrilled to find out that the Inn had a shuttle to the event! Believe me, parking was impossible and the shuttle was a fantastic convenience.
Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The only problem we encountered with it was the lock on the bathroom door. Our 4 yr. old locked the door and shut it and it was impossible to open. I called the front desk and was originally told to come down to get a screwdriver... but then the clerk called back and told us she'd be right over. It took her a good 30 min. to open the door and she mentioned that this wasn't the first time this had happened. Fortunately our son wasn't locked inside because I think he would have been hysterical. She ended up taking the doorknob off of the bathroom door and told us that she'd have maintenance put it back on after we left.
Otherwise, we greatly enjoyed our stay. We didn't have a chance to use the swimming pool, but it looked nice. The restaurant was EXCELLENT! Our dinner was expensive, but worth every penny. The continental breakfast included with the price of the room was outstanding...milk, juice, cereal, danishes, sausage, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, etc. were provided and everything was very tasty.
I plan on staying at the Netherland's Inn again when Thomas the Tank Engine is back in town! It's was a terrific experience.
