Great Hotel A review of Iron Gate Hotel & Suites
Just returned from the Iron gate yesterday, read reviews before we went and was looking forward to it. landed in Prague airport to the place covered in snow really was a beautiful sight.
Arrived at the hotel in a mini-bus, and it really looked nice, situted in a very narrow cobbled street (bus driver very skilled to manage to get the mini bus down there) ans were welcomed into a lovely warm lobby, greeted at the counter by some very nice staff, we had arrived early 11:30am so unfortunetly our room wasn't ready until 2pm, so we had to head off for a couple of hours, town square less then 2 mins away, and its really nice, specially at night with it all lit up.
Breakfast was great, what a choice, scrambled eggs and sausages, fruit, cereal, toast, sweet desserts, lots of fruit juices, herbal teas and coffee, really good to set you off on a day of sight-seeing. The restuarant as well was fab steaks were melt in your mouth. The crepes in Cafe boegner wow, the choco one, you can feel the weight piling on but definetly worth a try.
A walk up the hill to the parks is definetly a must the views were great, also the change of gaurds at mid-day is well worth it.
Everything was in 25mins walk at the most, the palace and charles bridge.
The beer is great too, tescos have really cheap beer EURO 0.07 a pint bottle and my boyfriend said it tasted fine, like any other beer.
One more great thing was the DVD's which you could get a reception free of charge, and the bell boy brings them up to the room for you, what a service.
Would definetly recommend the hotel to people for a very central location with everything you need near-by.
