Great hotel if on a budget A review of Courtyard Boston-South Boston

We spent Friday & Saturday nights here 03/31 - 04/01. The room we were in was great. It was very large with one King bed and a sofa. There was a desk an armoire and a refrigerator with a small bar above it. The bathroom was very large for a hotel room and had the curved shower curtain rod which was nice. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The only bad part of the room was that there was absolutely no water pressure in the shower. I was looking forward to using the nice looking massaging shower head but when The water came on I was very dissappointed, I could have dumped a cup of water over myself and got more pressure.

We used the shuttle a couple of times. Yes you do have to wait for it to get to you. People need to remember that they are not the only ones staying at the hotel and that other people want to go to different places in the city, you may not have a direct ride to the place you want to go. The hotel has it set up so there are only 5 or 6 pick up/drop off spots so that it doesn't get too complicated. We were dropped off and picked up at the Prudential Center (it took about a 1/2 hour to get there and we had to wait for 45 minutes to be picked up) When you see the traffic it is understandable that it is going to take a while for them to get to you. We just kicked back and relaxed and saw some great parts of Boston. If you want to use the shuttle on Saturday morning we found that you should make a reservation. I called the front desk at 9 am and was told the next one we could get on was at 11:30. We walked to the subway instead. The T station is only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We used the subway all day then took it to Quincy Market and called the shuttle to pick us up that night. It only took 25 minutes for them to get to us that time.

I would definately stay here again it would be better to stay right in the heart of Boston if you can afford it but our budget just wouldn't do it this time. The hotel isn't in the prettiest area (our view was a big lot of cement mixers and dirt) but it seemed to be a safe area, we never felt uncomfortable. It looked more like a middle class city neighborhood to us.
