Great, Great, Great A review of Hotel Navarra

We spent one night in Bruges on a last minute getaway. We chose this hotel after reading the reviews on this site and because it was good value for money. (£88 + tax) We arrived from the UK via Eurotunnel (£38 return) and took a short drive up the motorway. I had read that the one way system was a little confusing, but with 5 main ways in and having done a little homework we found the hotel with no problem. On arrival we found the car park to be full and were directed to the Hotel Aragon's 2 floor underground facility nearby where there was plenty of room. This was also cheaper than Navarra's and charged hourly.

The hotel itself is well appointed, we found the stairs quite steep, and on entering our room we had a bit of a shock. We were in room 351 on the top floor and had a great view. However the bed looked like a foldaway and there was an exposed beam by the bathroom door ready to catch you out. Upon further inspection the bed was a regular one, we got a glimpse of the same in next doors room, with light switches attatched and was in the end surprisingly comfortable. The en-suite was huge with plenty of room and was ultra clean as you'd expect from this chain. It was possible to open all the windows fully, not the norm at this height,, but was welcome as it was a lovely warm evening.

Breakfast at this hotel was utterly fantastic and included in the price. The choice and range surpassed anything I had seen in Europe before. Cereal, Fruit, Cold meats, Cheese, 4 juices, Scrambled Eggs & Sausages as well as the usual breads, toasts and preserves. Needless to say we eat heartily and enjoyed every mouthful.

We did visit the pool area but didn't use it as it was situated in the basement, with the fitness suite. The heat and the humidity downstairs we felt was a little oppressive and it put us off a little. This was the only minor downside to a wonderful hotel and a great stay.

I would highly recommed this hotel, the staff are very friendly, the rooms very clean and the food excellent. I would also recommed the Fondue Restaurant on the left on the way to the Markt square and the Celtic Irish Pub for obvious reasons!

All in all a great visit and worthy for every star.
