Great Front Desk; room cleaning was below average. A review of Marriott Salt Lake City University Park
The front desk was helpful whenever I called for anything. They knew the area well and were able to give quick directions to my destination. The interior of the hotel is quite nice and it's construction allows you to see outside and throughout the inside very well. I was there during conference weekend and the hotel wasn't very packed, which was good and that kept the price reasonable, $85.00 a night.
Though there were weddings and conventions during the entire weekend it didn't interrupt our stay at all. We only noticed them when we took the elevators down and could see them through the see-through elevators that peer out onto the hotel, really nice for the price.
A gift-shop, mountain backdrop, close vicinity to the rail-lines to downtown and UofU stadium, make it a nice hotel.
The only drawback was that after our room was cleaned corn chips were still on the nightstand, though it looked tidy, (like they thought we were going to finish the last three chips on the phone book) and the bed lining was untucked, which is not usually a concern but a sign of a rushed job. Other small things were just moved and not thrown away like plastic bags, old drinks, etc. And lastly, we were surprised to find a shirt folded but on the floor...?
