Great for overnight -- local flavor A review of BEST WESTERN PLUS Lighthouse Hotel

The Best Western Lighthouse Hotel was wonderful!!! It was a little more expensive than I thought but the uniqueness was worth it. Its very close to San Francisco but far enough away to relax. The view of the Pacific was outstanding and the sound of the ocean--romantic and lulling. My date and I stayed in the Jr. corner suite for about $170 and the room was extremely nice, clean and comfortable. The balcony is very small but the view from the sliding glass windows couldn't be beat. ..... the ocean and the mountains. We didn't get to see much of the qaint town with antique shops because we had to get to SF. But do go over to Nicks-- it's right across the street from the hotel. The food was great , the live band was okay as far as we could tell.. The music would be acceptable to mid age or older adults.. and there was dancing on the dance floor! Room service breakfast was good too! There a little beach (dark sand) and waterfront trails and a hiking trail up the mountain. It was chilly at night and early morning. 9/21/2003
