Great find! A review of La Sorgente Hotel Posada
I found this hotel based on the reviews on this site and could not have been happier! The rate was more than reasonable, $150 Argentinian pesos for a room for 3--two queen sized beds and a twin (about $50 USD). The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully maintained with a swimming pool in the courtyard area. It is 4 blocks to the central bus station and there are several restaurants near there as well. The owner, Angela, speaks English as well as Italian and Spanish (possibly more, but that was my limit of understanding). She is happy to assist in planning what to see and the best way to get about (take the bus to the park and skip the group travel, though do the "Grand Adventure" to get on the river). There is free internet service in the lobby, though one of the terminals was not working while we were there. The continental breakfast each morning was wonderful, with fresh juices, fruits and pastries. Coffee is also offered in the courtyard during the day. The hotel did have a problem with accepting credit cards during our stay (the card reader was non-functional), but we were able to pay with US dollars and avoid the trip to the ATM (near the bus station). The hotel also arranged for us to be met at the airport though our flight was diverted to Posadas and we took a taxi from there. What a relief to be greeted by friendly, smiling faces at midnight, ready to direct us to our room! Upon our departure, Angela arranged for a car to take us to the Foz do Iguacu airport on the Brazilian side which really sped up the border crossing. I would highly recommend this hotel.
