Great Family Vacation A review of Homewood Suites Seattle-Downtown

The last week of July, my husband, my 13 year old son and I went to a family wedding in Snohomish, WA. Once the wedding festivities were over, we moved into the Homewood Suites on the edge of Seattle Center. This was a very good place to stay. We had a fabulous bayside view overlooking the Myrtle Edwards Park. The suite included two televisions, a full kitchen (groceries could be delivered or within walking distance), and a sofa bed. Each morning we had a full buffet breakfast of eggs, sausage, pancakes, breads, fruits, cheese, juices and of course Starbucks coffee. Each evening we had the option to have a light supper and drinks. We only did this one evening, but it was good. Ravioli, bread and salad with wine or beer. All of this food is included in the price of the room. I figure we saved some, and it was convenient. Now on to Seattle! We were able to ride the bus from right in front of the hotel to the Market Place. We had a wonderful time exploring the shops, listening to the musicians, and of course the flying fish. We got a CityPass, even though we did not use all of it, we got more than the value we paid. The Aquarium is fun, and the IMAX was a bonus. We enjoyed the Seattle Ducks ride (Captain Al Tuna we love you!), and Seattle Center was exhausting but fun. My guys are music crazy and loved Experience Music. The Science Museum was fun also. We did get a chance to go to Discovery Park and to the Fish Ladder. Unfortunately, we were about a week or two late for one variety of salmon jumping, but we did get to see boats go through the locks. The botanical garden was nice to. Next time I manage to get to Seattle, I will focus on the San Juan Islands and a trip to Victoria, BC.
