Great, Cozy Lodge With Friendly Owner/Staff A review of Tivoli Lodge
My wife and I came out to ski in Vail for a long weekend and have to say that we picked the right place to stay. The Tivoli Lodge is newly renovated and the rooms are well appointed with high end fixtures/marble counter tops, and very clean. The bed is also very comfortable.
The airline lost our bags (shocker) and the staff did everything they could to help us feel more comfortable without our belongings. We missed an entire day of skiing b/c all of our ski clothes were with the airline, however the owner of the hotel (Bob) was sooooo kind that he lent us his annual ski pass so that on Sunday we skied for free. That kind gesture in itself showed us a lot about the hospitality of those that run this hotel.
Breakfast is good with eggs, bacon, bagels, make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, orange juice, coffee.
There are two outdoor hot tubs which were wonderful after a full day of skiing. The hotel gives you robes and slippers and towels for the hot tub. When you walk back in you can relax by the fireplace with a cup of hot cider/tea/hot chocolate.
The only negative we found was that there was no restaurant in the hotel so you have to walk a few minutes to Vail Village to get some food. We are from New York so walking is not a problem for us, however the temperatures while we were in Vail were brutally cold....I'm talking -10 degress at night.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Tivoli Lodge. We will be back!
