Great city, but don't stay here A review of Top Hotel Prague & Congress Center
They could not do too little for you at this hotel, it is enormous and if you want poor levels of service, a bed and to be left alone you might be ok. Otherwise I'd stay anywhere in Prague other than here. It is full of either conference delegates or Stag do's, neither of which is particularly appealing.
Also it is a bit far out of town, which is ok if you want a 20minute walk to the tram stop, or to wait for a bus then get the metro, but there is nothing else in the area. There are no stunning views.
Breakfast is truly awful, chillies: why? Salty bread, well I suppose someone must like it but it was a shock to me.
Reception is useless, there are no feedback forms, the minibar is locked
There are no duplicate keys to share if the two of you wish to separate. When I asked for a spare key, as I had got separated from my partner I was advised that they had none, they had lost the master key, that they could drill the lock and that I would be charged. Eventually, through an hours battle of wills I got them to provide me an alternate room. The whole attitude and culture of the hotel has been tarnished in my opinion by the stag do's as the staff tar you all with the same brush. Very poor, never again. I offered them the opportunity to respond to my issues, but since they did not take me up on the offer, I hope that writing this review will ensure others do not go there and at least have a better chance, as Prague is a fantastic city and it would be a shame to spoil your stay this hotel.
