Great business hotel in Sao Paulo A review of Hilton Morumbi Sao Paulo
First of all, please be aware that the name of this hotel is a bit of a misnomer. We were told that the location is actually in the "Brooklin" part of town, across the river from "Morumbi". Apparently, Morumbi is a more desirable neighborhood so Hilton decided to associate with it instead.
Anyway, I had a very pleasant 2 night stay at this hotel. Some notes that may be of interest:
- I was upgraded to one of the Executive Rooms on the 25th floor with an expansive view of the city. The room itself was very well appointed and comfortable as one would expect. I understand that the hotel was build several years ago, but they've done a good job keeping it up -- the place looks brand new.
- The location is great for business travelers as it is attached to the World Trade Center and the Nacos Unidas shopping center (which had a vast array of value- to mid-priced eateries, and a puzzling number of furniture/home stores). It's also very close to many corporate offices, especially high-tech (e.g. HP, Microsoft, EMC). However, the surrounding area includes a favela so it was highly recommended that we only take taxis or hired cars to get in/out of the complex.
- There's free wireless access in the Executive Lounge; wired connection in the room was about $10/day.
- The staff, especially Rachel at the front desk of the lounge, was very helpful and accomodating. They went out of their way to arrange cars & tours for us, and provided really good information and recommendations.
