Great Atmosphere, Very Overpriced!!! A review of Woodlands Hotel & Suites - Colonial Williamsburg
Let me first say that i have not been To the "New Woodlands" yet. The first stay was in May of '98", and my husband and I had an oversized room with 2 beds, and a full size sofa in it set up like a living room. The room was awesome, rustic, country feel! The second time we were there was in July '99', and i was not as impressed with our room at all. We had 1double bed, and 1 twin size for my daughter. The full size bed was HORRIBLE, lop-sided and the head of the bed sloped down, shabby pillows. For the money they were getting then, a night, for their standard room was just ridiculous!!! Now do not get me wrong, the woodsy setting and the convenience of hopping on a shuttle was wonderful! We loved the "Cascade" restaurant , and the "Burger King" on the premises was great and convenient, but now I hear it has all changed, but they still have a section of the older rooms/hotel they did not tear down and still use. If they put you in the older section/rooms now , WATCH OUT!! Overpriced, and in desperate need of renovation. It was a very relaxing setting, but since they have built the new "Woodslands" hotel i could not tell you how it is now.
